Caro Chia SS26 "FLOUNDERING" unfolds from a stated sense of vulnerability, a quiet state of struggle where fragility becomes a form of expression. This collection draws inspiration from drooped petals, observing the delicate tension that exists within folds, drapes, and layered surfaces.

The work reflects back to Caro Chia’s visit to Janice Kounellis at the Venice Biennale years ago, where Rosa Nera left a lasting imprint. The subtle way Kounellis expressed the nature of a flower, its presence, weight, and quiet decay, continues to echo through this collection.

Here, garments are shaped through in-between spaces: between drape and structure, softness and collapse. Through layered constructions and subdued forms, SS26 explores how vulnerability itself can hold strength, revealing beauty in states of suspension, imbalance, and becoming as seen with the Opal Silk Top Black.
