Soft Crush Vase
SKU:
Soft-crush vase is a collaboration between kar and studio KAE. The product is a continuation of studio KAE's iconic crush vase. The specificity of crush vase is that it is the deconstruction and reorganisation of the traditional square utensil by using geometric cut on its silhouette and surface, challenging its unity. In terms of material and surface details, soft-crush vase integrates the "not by intentional" philosophy, the special feature of fibreglass and irregular shape of kar, endows soft -crush vase with soft and changeable characteristics, which also restrains the sharpness of the edges and corners from the crush vase, increasing soft visual experience meanwhile retaining geometric features. It seems to be a more in-depth and fluid perceptual treatment of a mature analytical method.
If the charm of crush vase lies in the more concentrated energy: with daily use, the "bark" peels away symbols the beauty of "life passing". Soft-crush is like its reverse, showing the delicate and softness of new born. Its craftsmanship naturally bestows the organic vitality. Gazing at the surface, the random concave and convex texture, irregular distribution of fibreglass, and semi-transparent all point to a hazy, outward emitting energy. When the palm gradually tightens on its "skin", a warm energy is instantly awakened by the touch of the tip, following with a period of tranquillity.
