PENG

PENG is a contemporary menswear project by designer Zhi-Chen Tai, formerly known as Peng Tai. A graduate of the London College of Fashion, Tai specialised in menswear design and gained industry experience through internships with fashion houses including Lumen et Umbra. In 2016, he presented his first solo collection at the LCF MA Menswear graduation show, marking the beginning of his independent design practice. Rooted in a deeply conceptual approach, PENG views clothing as a language of human experience—one that begins with the body and returns to materials drawn from nature. Elements such as fallen leaves, soil, branches, and flowers inform both the narrative and material sensibility of each collection, shaping garments that feel organic, thoughtful, and timeless. Since 2025, under the name PENG, Zhi-Chen Tai has continued to refine this vision, exploring the relationship between humanity, nature, and time within a modern menswear framework. The result is a body of work defined by quiet craftsmanship, natural textures, and contemporary silhouettes, offering a refined expression of modern, nature-inspired menswear.
